Hey has anyone else experinced the death of their cluster. First everything worked fine, then the oil pressure gauge died and tonight the temp gauge died. Has anyone else had this issue?

And to make it worse i bought an aftermarket oil pressure gauge but the damn sender doesnt fit. i dunno if they make extentions/adapters or i need to find another compatible sensor. Now im gonna need a new temp gauge. Ill get a cluster eventually.

I'm having that problem right now. My boost gauge stopped then the temp followed suit. I also picked up an aftermarket mechanical temp gauge with the huge sender that you can't do anything with. I'm just gonna pick up an electric gauge and wire it right in to the stock location.
If you want to use the gauge you bought, the best place to hook up the sender is in the water pump housing. Unfortunately you have to tap and die the housing which is something that I personally wouldn't want to deal with. Another option is tapping the sender into the 90 degree coolant hose underneath the intake manifold with a T-fitting. You can get accurate readings from there too. There are a couple people around that have done this with that 90 deg hose. ElfKing on the forum has it and he's happy...

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
I have posted this a couple of times (hint search next time)...
anyway
The screws on the back of the gauge cluster sometimes get corrosion built up on them. Remove the screws, add a little conductive grease to the bottom of the screw and top of the screw. Screw back in.
Should solve the problem.

Is there such a thing as an adapter for the oil pressure sender? I spent some good money on my guage and want to hook it up but the sender is too fat and cant get close enough to screw in.

well i would probably do as icemark suggested unless you really want to double up your gauges, i hate having tons of extra gauges when i have perfectly good ones in the dash.
and you don't need the anodized ones, you could go with the rectangular shaped adapter, it is about 1/2 the price.
