Clock Not working, Resets?
I tried researching this and i couldn't find the answer please help. My clock sometimes doesn’t turn on, i.e. doesn’t light up. Sometimes it does but it doesn’t keep the right time. It seems that every once in a while it resets itself to 1:00, I know this isn’t the biggest problem in the world but I am curious as to whether it could become a bigger problem, or is indicative of a bigger electrical problem. Thanks in advance.

yeah, i have the same problem. most everyone does. its some bad solder points typically, but i'm not sure which ones. its such a typical problem, it should damn near be a 'sticky.'

If the clock is not working correctly, the problem can generally be traced to either blown (or removed) room fuse or cold solder joints in the idiot light/clock panel.

If it is the cold solder joints, To fix the problem you have to pull the idiot/clock cluster out. Take the 3 screw out of the back of the idiot/clock cluster. Pull the backing off. Then you need to resolder the backs of the termrial where the connector plugs in.

Um, I know I sound dumb, but what is a room fuse and what does it do? Thanx a lot, you guys are really helpful, I am truly unskilled when it comes to my cars, but I am trying to learn and thanx to you guys I am accomplishing this.

one of the fuses in the fuse panel will be marked ROOM, find it and see if it's blown.
But if your clock works sometimes, then chances are pretty good that that fuse is fine, and it's a bad solder joint.
replace the clock/idiot light assembly or repair it if you're handy with a solder iron.
