Yeh .. Same thing happened on my 91'. It's starting to **** me off. Does anyone know the answer? I did a search before i typed this. Nothing came up. So i assumed it was unadressed. ----- My issue is that my car's "iddiot clock" will not keep time. I'll set it, and 2 or 3 hours later. Off time.

This has been covered quite a few times before, and is related to cold solder joints on the plug of the idiot lights/clock.

You would need to remove the clock/idiot light assembly, and remove the old solder from where the pins of the plug meet the circuit board. Then flow new solder in.

I can also repair it for you pretty cheap, PM me if you are intrested.

back from the dead...

cold solder points on the pins that go into the harness? i was trying to fix mine today and thought it what the actual harness not conneting to the pins correctly... i put small beads of solder on the tips of the pins to they would be tighter and have better contacts... guess i ill take it out and try to fix the bad solders, this a common fix?

yes, mazdamark.com he does all of the shitty electronics on the FCs switchs like headlight switch logicon and the dummy lights. good stuff!

yes merdok, the FCs have horrible solder joints, even the ECU could use resoldered on some cars, some cars have good grounds, most don't. I think its mostly a series 4 thing (86-88)

do not just reheat them, you have to remove the old solder and use new stuff
