anodizing seems like it would lower the intercoolers thermal transfer abilities.

They look alright, but like he said, they're a tad on the small side.

Long and skinny is not the way to go. They usually suffer lots of pressure drop.
If you get them long, they should also be taller propotionaly.

They should have ratings on them stating flow ratings and pressure drops. If they don't I would pass them up.

Not to mention they look a bit small to begin with.

Short endtanks + long tubes = very high pressure drop.

I know many many people that use these intercoolers. Mainly for hondas... It would work well to replace the stock IC. But for higher boost, I dont know. I know john and I've seen many of his IC's. As far as the anodizing... you honestly couldnt tell a difference performance wise between one that is and one thats not.

check out www.homemadeturbo.com to talk to more people about the IC's. Everyone there uses them and johnny posts there.

ps. These intercoolers have been used in 500+ whp applications, just fine.
I have personally ridden in, and witnessed a dyno of the said above.
And quality is top notch.

never will be used in a 500 hp rotary. Its not to hard to get a v8 to run 500 rwhp once its force fed. Pistons can run 500-600 on pump gas and 5-8lbs of boost so you could used this little intercooler just don't try it on a rotary.

My front mount core is of similar construction, the core is 20X8X3 and my intake temps never go above 135 at 15 psi..

Aksi him what brand of core... if its a modine core.. i'd say go for it!!!!

the 500 whp was on an h22 engine. Built bottom end, stock head. And it was running over 22psi.

Held up fine. I have direct experience with these intercoolers... do you?
