Thumbs up Click Click Click

Click - click - start issue. (Mostly during winter for me)
Not battery or starter on mine - for sure.
Did not check ignition switch, but after this little mod, I have not experienced the click click issue.

Looks like this might be resolved.
I'll report back if issue resurfaces.

So? What do you have there? Maybe a relay that is pulled in by the start signal from the key? Then you have Batt voltage coming into the relay to one relay post, and on the other relay post you have a wire going to the starter solenoid.

So when the relay is pulled in, by putting the key to Start, you send power directly from the batt to the starter solenoids small wire?

Wouldn't that then make it a starter solenoid problem? Why not just replace that instead of putting in a jank relay system thats sits under your car?

No. It means the freaking igniton switch won't MAINTAIN enough current to keep the solenoid pulled in. Easily proved by pulling the plugs off the ignition switch and jumpering the pure black ignition feed wire to the start circuit wire.

Yup, the start position on my keyswitch went bad too, and finally gave up the ghost in the middle of nowhere. I ended up crawling under the car with a jumper cable and pinching the little connector, then touched the cable to the battery and it fired right up. I ended up going to a NAPA and getting some wires and a pushbutton so I could drive home safely.

Same problem is happening to me. I'm about to install a relay as well.

Maybe., your symptoms sound like it. give it a shot.
I had to 'click' it really fast before it started up. Now it just fires up like crazy.
the click problem on mine gets worse the colder it gets., sometimes even when hot and it happens all the time.

I have not experienced the click....yet. . . out of like 20 start ups I did so far. usually I'd get it 3/5 starts. Really bad. I hope this all works out. It hasn't been really cold here this week compared to last week dropping down to 25- 32'F but so far so good. It makes me want to keep starting my car and drive off 'coz it fires up like a new car

i tried a relay setup on mine, but it just engaged-disengaged the starter really quickly and wouldn't start at all.

so i currently just bypassed the starter circuit with a momentary switch inside.
