Clean AN fitting solution for FC fuel pump cover

I’m adapting an FC fuel pump cover plate to my RX3 gas tank. I wanted to see if anyone could share pictures of a nice clean way to change to an fitting on the pump cover. I tried searching, but haven’t found much.
Here’s what I’ve got so far. Going with a Walbro 450 and 3x15” Holley Hydramat. I want to go with at least -6, maybe -8 on feed side.

Good idea since FC fuel pump hangars are easy to find in junkyards. Note that the FD FP flange is larger, which makes it much easier to stick your hand in the tank or to add fittings and electrical connectors to the flange (for dual pumps for instance). I suspect a single pump would be enough for you so a -06 AN fitting should do the trick. While I've made a -08 fitting fit, it's hard to justify unless your up around 450RWHP. There's not much extra real estate available if you want to use the stock float and level sender assy. Here's some pics of a stock hangar that I've added male -06 AN fittings to for feed and return lines.

Underside of FC flange with PTFE washer on the bulkhead fitting.

Thank you for sharing this. I only have one cover and didn’t want to attempt something that would destroy it. The FC cover is as big as I can fit on the flat of my tank between the baffles. I actually came up with the Flange size I wanted and found the FC cover matched that size almost exactly. The depth of the hanger is super close as well. I have a separate hole for fuel level sender, so I removed the sender from the FC cover assembly

For street vehicles I prefer brazing to bulkhead fittings and nylon washers.

I like the idea of brazed on fittings, but the electrical bulkhead would likely need to be removed to keep it safe from heat. Looks a little tricky to un-crimp though. My guess is the fitting would break on me trying to get it out. If replacement electrical bulkheads can be purchased I might give it a shot.

That's why brazing instead of welding. You can mitigate heat enough so that the nylon or whatever won't roast. I'd also be willing to bet with patience you could depin and remove that but I dunno for sure.

I have done it and its not a big deal to take electrical connector out without damaging it...but you have to be careful when prying out the bent tabs..it's a bit tedious to get out.

2 things..... where did you get that flange? And from what I've read, here on the forum, the hydromats aren't rated for premix, if you were going to premix.

This has been clarified. Holly specifies on their website the mat is fully compatible with premix, and members have been running them without issue.

Yeah, from what Holley has published and reports from forums members, it seems that Hydramat should be ok with premix; finger’s crossed.

I had the flanges made per this print if anyone else wants to make some for their project.
