I got a touch screen lcd and a computer mounted in a briefcase(800PIII, 120GBHDD, 768MBRAM) all ready to go, just never wanted to put it into a car that I trust it not to walk out of.... The whole thing is badass.

I've been having difficulty finding a small (5-7") touchscreen LCD that has a standard interface.. it's rather difficult.
even a non-touchscreen with a standard interface.. they're all crazy weird ones that won't work with anything aside from what they were designed for.
The laptop that I have in the car now won't be walking anywhere.. for one, it's totally hidden, two, it's old and ghetto.
It's a 90MHZ Pentium with 64mb ram and it runs dos... the screen doesn't even work, lol
I just made autoexec.bat (remember messing with those?) load a dos mp3 player (MPx play I think) that automatically picks a random song on startup and just keeps playing until I turn it off. I've got the mouse keys set as foreward/back, so it's easy to change the song (those two keys are easily reachable from the drivers seat).
Eventually, though, I'm going to have my old 500MHZ PIII laptop doing it's job, but also playing DVDs, maybe games, etc.. Currently I'm using a null-modem cable to connect it to my computer, and 420 to transfer files. I wanted to prove that it could be done in dos.. and it can
My new setup for file transfer will be ethernet, maybe even wireless ethernet. I really want to see Aaron Cake's setup for file transfer, it looks pretty cool but I think I can come up with something more elegant. we'll see.

**** its better than having nothing holding it down. velcro in that big of a patch would be hard as hell to take off. you would probly have the carpet to the cealing before you could get it even close to coming off.
