Check Engine!! Cant pull any codes!!!

My check engine lamp is on when I get ovver 2k while i'm driving. And it goes into limp mode!!
I use theese two links to try to pull codes myself:
http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html
http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/codes.html

When I followed this procedure my "check engine" lamp is on for a few seconds and then it goes of for 2sec and the its back on and nothing more happends!!

I have loand a digidal code box from a local Mazda dealer and tryed to get out som codes, but nothing happend her also!! It seems that its searching and ends up with nothing!!

Any ideas? Is the ecu broke!!

Please help me!!

Thanks
Knut-Erik

Code 08?

No help here!!

Now I have tried out more with this digital code check box. When I connect it and set the key in ON, the first number is set to 0 and the second number is blinking an 8!!!

Is this a code 08? Or is it somthing wrong because the 8 is blinking???

I did read here somewhere that only problems with OMP will get my RX7 into LIMP MODE!!!

If this is an code 8, then my problem is the AFM. Can the AFM cause LIMP MODE?

Please help!!

The ONLY way you go into limp mode is if you are getting an OMP code, or if you think about your naked grandmother..

Just a word of caution. Many people have experienced an ecu that becomes irrepairable whenn the omp goes out.

this same problem happened to my fc
the omp and the ecu will fry each other!!!
You need to replace the omp and the ecu at the same time. If you only replace the omp, the bad ecu will fry your good omp, and if you only replace the ecu, your already bad omp will fry your new ecu. Trust me, i learned this the hard way!!! I currently have 3 fried omp's and 3 fried ecu's from my trial and error method!! I hope you get it to work!

I spoke at length to kevin landers about this, and he figures you have about a 50% chance of the OMP taking the ECU with it when it kicks the bucket.

Kevin was actually the guy to told me that you need to actually replace both the ecu and the omp at the same time
and it worked as soon as i did!

Well, there is a way to determine if you need to replace the ECU or not. I have used this method with some success.

You remove the ECU, and look at the PCB. If you see some burned runs, then the OMP took the ECU with it on its downward spiral. If the ECU looks okay, replace the OMP and press on with your life.

New OMP

Now the OMP is removed and replaced with a used one that works!!!
My car is running great. Check engine lamp is gone and everything is nice :-)

Before I changed OMP I took out ECU and looked inside it. A little resistor was damaged so I replaced it!! Now everything works perfect

Thanks to everyone that has helped me!!
