I'd be interested in that, too, chris. And if it works out, you should see about fabbing CF door panels and complete dash

Hmm...interesting, anyone know the weight of that piece?

I surf ebay almost daily, and use "RX7" as my search. Never have I seen that piece before, looks cool, just want to know how much it weighs.

I too, will be in if it's $200 shipped.

I agree, it looks pretty cool.

I do separate searches for "RX7" and "RX-7" and "RX 7". It all depends on what is listed in the item title. You can also get fancy and use the Refine Search option to search for all three variations (and whatever else you can think of) at once. If you only search for "RX7" you'll miss a lot of good stuff.

I'd pay about 120$US maximum for one, its really not much different than the radio CF dash in size, and probably easier to make..

But yea, sweet idea, gogo cf parts for the fc!

the sunroff weighs like 10 lbs (its just sheet metal with a little reinforcement, its not lead, people). a CF sunroof is a waste of time and money IMO. but i geuss some peope will just do ANYTHING to get some CF on their car.

I think the skin weighs a little more than that, but thats not the reason I want one. Sunroof skins are notorious for rusting. Even on my FC which has immaculate paint and has been garage kept its entire life, and doesnt have a spot of rust anywhere, the sunroof skin is starting to bubble. CF would eliminate this problem. Its not like I wouldnt paint it anyway...

I rather replace the sun roof panel ONCE in my lifetime, than use body filler, I HATE body filler Then again, I won't pay over $200 for a CF panel....

Arospeed has it listed in their 2004 catalog.
Part number ARO141220, but I can't find it anywhere through a web search.

Check the download catalog here:

i forgot about the rust issue. yeah mines kinda rusted actualy, but fiberglass would be alot cheaper and acheive the same end if you are doing it for the rust.

i'm trying to figure out how this will work... is the CF panel just a new "skin" that replaces the steel one on your car now, or does it replace the whole sunroof assembly, thus making the sunroof inoperable and leaving you with a big square sheet of CF on your roof?

I have a carbon fiber sunroof if anyone wants to trade for a glass panel (NOT PLEXI, I want GLASS). The cf sunroof is suppossed to be a direct replacement ( I havent checked the fitment, but it looks just like the oem, but mucho lighter and it wont rust), its not just a skin. I'm NOT interested in a sale, just a trade so don't ask unless this goes on for weeks without a trade. I had a deal with someone months ago but they backed out (I guess, last I heard the glass was ready to ship and he wont answer email anymore). Keep in mind the ebay-er ships it for another $30 on top of auction. I have several pics, there too large to post.
