Cat Converter

Just wondering if anyone ever melted their cat converter's core. Co'z my Series5 done it twice already. I think i should get the metallic core Hi-Flo Cat converter, co'z I didn't know before so i put in ceramic core. So anyone done it before?

cheap cats, or overly rich mixtures will damage and melt the cores.

And Ceramic cores are way way stronger against heat than cheapo steel cores.

Do you have some major injection problem (such as too large of fuel injectors, with no controller or a new tune)?

so all ceramic cats can be used for a rotary?
I wanted to buy a hi-flow cat, but then I was told that it's not worth the money to buy a cat because they melt away very fast on a rotary anyways.

If your stock cat melted, fix the problem (probably running rich) before getting another one. Or it might destroy even a good cat. If only an aftermarket cat melted, stay away from cheap cats. People say Bonez is good and can handle the heat of a rotary.
