Yes you can carburate a turbo 13B. Its pointless though. EFI costs just about the same and is better all around.

What he said. There's no point in doing this project. Tuning a carb'd turbo car is a serious pain in the ***. EFI is the way go go.

Like everyone else said, it's not worth the trouble to carb a 13BT. Assuming you choose the superior blow-through method opposed to the simpler draw-through method, you would need a special carb intended for forced induction, as well as a special manifold, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, low-pressure fuel pump, bypass valve, etc. Assuming the same turbo and comparable intake manifold, it would be inferior to a stock 13BT, would be more trouble to build, would be more difficult to tune, and would probably cost more.

Can you afford to spend $1,000 to $1,600 (plus about $500 for professional tuning) on a good standalone EMS? It would work much better than the stock system, would be much easier to install, and would actually be cheaper than a new wiring harness from Mazda, assuming they even still sell them. The EMS would also allow you to can the AFM and all of its wiring, solve the 3800rpm and flooding problems associated with the stock system, negate any need for a FCD, and allow you to monitor systems such as AFR, intake air temperature, manifold pressure, etc.

If you just want to save money, you could sift through the wiring diagrams in the back of the factory service manual and make your own wiring harness.

Yes, the stock harnesses are crusty and nasty in their old age.
