Is this car worth 1k?
I am looking at a 1987 FC for 1k obo. The original price was 1,200 but nobody bit at that price, so I might have to nab it for around 900. Do you guys think it is worth the 900 or 1,000? I know that I would have to do the 60k service and the clutch to get it to drive on a semi-daily basis.
Here are the specs on the car.
Charcoal Grey 144k on chassis, 25-30 on motor that was pulled from wrecked fc supposedly
Custom motor mounts,
Energy suspension tranny mounts
Dual Flex-A-Lite electric fans.
HomeDepot cold air.
factory mazda spoiler, have the side aero things that go in front of rear wheels too, those will come with car also.
MSD wires
Oil injector block of plates, run mixed gas.
Bomz DP and and gutted cat.
Tockico Blue shocks, new oem springs.
Relocated battery
Konig Racing wheels (17lbs) and BFGoodrich Comp T/A tires.
shaved antenna, color matched mirrors and tails.
body is straight. polished aluminum hood.
Kill switch that hasn't been mounted yet, ill leave it up to you.
some racing clutch (knights racing?), can't remember but its pretty much toast, it can still be drivin no problem

Yeah, I really want this car. Why would I have to rebuild the engine soon if it only has 25k on it? I will take my time checking this car, the last project I had I didn't spend enough time looking at it before I loaded it on my trailer and drove away and as I was bobbing the bed (it was a 4x4 project) I found out that my frame was bent! I have read the article on what to look for on non-turbo FC's when you buy them and it seems pretty straightforward. And I will bring my buddy the FC guru with me when I look at it.

"25-30 on motor that was pulled from wrecked fc supposedly" thats why it needs a rebuild.Read the last word "supposedly" makes me think hes not so sure about it and has no real proof, but if it runs good who cares its a good price

Yeah I am talking to my parents about this, I have the money but am a minor so I need them to sign the title and whatnot, so I need their permission. I brought it up with my dad and he seems to like the idea.

When I told my friend about this deal his jaw dropped and was like go pick it up this weekend because it won't last! Hopefully I can pick it up next week or something. I am asking the seller all the usual questions, like oil consumption and whatnot at this point. I love my AWD but come on RWD will be fun to play with, and hopefully I will get her going right and not mess it up!
