Depends on what you want to do. You can replace everything that's melted. Or junk the car, or sell it. Not sure what kind of answer you're looking for here.

sounds like a bad PulsationDampener...

pull your UIM off and redo the wiring... or just get a new/used harness... or go standalone with flying harness...

check your PulsationDampener!!!!!! i bet my *** that the little screw under the cap popped out...

A lot of wise-*** answers. Your question leaves questions. A). How much is the car worth? B).How much will it cost to repair. If B) is greater than A), junk the car.

OP, you got to this forum too late I think. Basically, 2nd gens., especially 86-88's, have a bad habit of engine fires because of the Pulsation Damper. The pulsation damper's job is to absorb the pulsations of fuel coming from the fuel pump to smoothen the supply of fuel to the injectors and also prevent damage to them. It is mounted at the front of the fuel rail that bolts to the engine center housing, NOT the fuel rail more accessible.

The Pulsation damper has a plastic yellowed (from age) cap and there's a screw inside to limit the rubber diaphram pulsations.

the car was pretty stock body was a little beat up but not a single spot of rust on the car i guess my best bet would be to sell it or check out the junkyard

If your engine bay looks better than this, it may be worth fixing.

Just curious, did you notice an appreciable drop in performance shortly before the fire? Basically like it would rev freely in neutral, but under load it would be sluggish no matter the RPM or throttle.

I keep putting off buying a Halon fire extinguisher for my car. I better stop procrastinating and do it.

did it burn off paint like the hood or fenders if not i would fix it
if it burnt paint there is a good chance the metal warped on the body and would take more body work and or engine work to bring it back to life

i lost my 91 to a bad seal on the omp oil got on manifold and poof there went my beautiful blaze red coupe

ME TOO! I just recently had a fuel line burst too, narrowly avoiding a catastrophy! Yet, I still have not gotten a fire extinguisher and continue to buy more and more parts for my cars! I really need to stop putting that off!

It looks saveable

Needs a new harness and all new soft lines for sure, if the intake manifold/TB needs to be replaced, i'm about to do an S5 swap and you can have the old stuff for shipping if it means keeping the car or junking it.

Just let me know i'd be happy to help you out if you need it, itfact, i can probably get you a whole used 88 harness and injectors, my friend is getting rid of his car.
