car eats pilot bearings

i posted last week about car not going into gear intermittently. well i took tranny out, and it seems the pilot bearing was shredded again. why is this? this is the second time in two months that the pilot bearing has gone out. could it be that this time i used an 89-91 throwout bearing? or could it be something else? either way this has given me an excuse to throw in the tII drivetrain and clutch hydraulics that has been sitting in my shed for a couple of months. but either way i woud like to hear some opinions on what could be causing this so i wont have to drop my tranny again (that **** sucks man).

is the input shaft on the tranny blue??

did you use high temp grease on the bearing?

did you buy a new pilot bearing seal?

how about using the correct clutch alignment tool?

Make sure you do these things.

no,
yes,
yes,
yes,
both times i made sure i did each of these things. do you have any recomendations on high temp grease to use? i have been using the kind in a black jar and has a burgundy color (dont remember the brand). it is high temp, and lithium base, as instructed in the haynes manual, but i dont know how it good it is because it doesn't give a temp range. i previously used the non-turbo clutch align tool but that was on the non-turbo clutch. i have a turbo one but i have not yet put the turbo tranny in.
could the tranny front cover have been bad maybe?
