Arrow Can't bring Idle up ??WTF!?!!

I have a 1990 NA with a ported engine. Once the engine is warm, it idles down around 700 or so, but since the porting, it idles a little rough down that low. That is an expected drawback. The solution is to bring the idle up to about 900 or so, where it's smooth again. BUT No matter how much I turn the idle adjust screw, I CAN'T get the idle to come up!! The only way to get the idle to change is to retard the timing so much it's sick!! The timing is set fine, but it jumps around pretty erraticaly at idle, but it seems ok. What gives?? I really don't like idling at 700 with the whole car going into convulsions!
Anybody have a clue?
Thanks

read the post by ROSHX7 about his idle a few posts down. Basically do the opposite of what it says in there. You need to tighten the main idle adjust screw on the throttle body. I included a pic in the other post, check it out and good luck
