Question Can't bring IDLE down on T2!

Ok, I've totally checked out everything and NO vacuum leaks are apparent. My idle is at 900rpm-1000rpm range when the car is HOT. I've replaced the BAC with a new one and I adjusted it FULLY CLOSED (the screw screwed in all the way) and STILL the idle didn't go down lower then 950rpm. I can RAISE it NO problem by backing off the screw on the BAC though. IS there any other place where I CAN ADJUST my idle down...heard something about some TB adjustment screw?

There is a screw on the TB to adjust the main idle. If you look right under and to the left of the coolant hose on top of the TB, you'll see a screw with a nut behind it. Check to see if theres any space between the screw and the throttle stop first. If so thats not the problem for sure. I forget the exact way you are supposed to set it, but if theres no space in there, try loosening it (make sure to retighten that nut or your idle could get a lot lower ). You might have to play around a bit, but I think that should fix it. Good luck

Heres a link to K2RDs TPS writeup. Look below and to the right of the top TB coolant fitting in the picture and you will barely see the screw and nut on a bracket

Thumbs up

Thanks! I'll try to locate that screw and see if that does anything.

find your throttle cable. if it's tight slack it off a bit. It might be holding the throttle open.

Just can't help myself. If the above posts do not pan out, get a mirror(more or less small) and with the motor hot, look at your fast idle cam and see if it has come off the roller. The fast idle screw back there could also be cracked too far open. Have you adjusted it? Your primary throttle plates? Thermowax adjustment?
