Can't accelerate past 6k rpm everynow and then....
I was driving the other day and went for my weekly redline and it just stopped at 6k. I don't know how to explain it really, it was redlining or not getting fuel. It was at a steady spead and was holding a constant 6k rpm. I went ahead and shifted but it did it a few times later that day. Then I turned it off, ran into a store for a soda, came back and drove. It redlined fine the rest of the day. It happened today also. It acted funny and then after I ate I went driving again only to find that it was fine and didn't mind to redline again. My engine is "blown" but I don't see why that would cause it to stop at 6k or so off and on. I also have a HORRIBLE exhuast leak; I can watch PUFFS of smoke bellow into my car through my tattered shift boot. I'm not for sure if maybe an exhaust leak could somehow cause a problem with WOT. I can't even think of where to begin with troubleshooting this problem.
I searched it and didn't really find any other posts on something like this other than a few about the 4k hesitation. This isn't a hesitation it is just... stuck.

The real question remains what can you do with your car? Might I interest you in a stick or two of dynomite?
I'm probably go to put it into storage until I get out of law school.
Figure I'll buy an old, used audi for cheap... a lot of the fc guys seem to own these.

my recommendation.......just rebuild it... better off in the long run quit pushing you car when you kno you engine is "blown" because its just going to end up costing you more when it comes to rebuild time.

Nothing else to drive.
In about two weeks once it warms back up here I'll just start riding my bike everywhere.
But... I'm not saying this is engine related. I'm trying to figure out if there IS ANYTHING that could be causing this. Need another weekend project. I just cleaned my grounds and they are ALL good; first thing I checked.
I'm just not 100 percent sure my ecu ground is on a good place.

I moved my ecu ground towards the bottom of my engine because I couldn't find any other places to put it w/o having to extend the wire. Though I'm pretty sure that it is good. I might get bored this weekend if I can't figure anything else out and try to relocate it.

The ground not the ecu. Aaron Cake said it can cause some problems if it isn't grounded on the engine. He knows his stuff so I'll probably post a picture of the ground and make sure it is actually on the engine. lol.
