Canadian VS American mileage

I'm positive this subject has been beaten to death, but the search didn't help me in finding what I'm looking for.

I own a Canadian 90 TurboII with 150,000 KILOMETERS (approx. 93,000 MILES) on it and I do not know at what mileage I should rebuild the engine.

I hear of 13b's lasting 200,000 MILES but so many of the RX-7 guys up here in Canada say "rebuild it at 200,000 KILOMETERS"

the engine has been babied, timed down after driving, warmed up before driving, regular oil changes, hasn't been dragged or auto-x'd, the works

so which is it?!

rebuild at 200,000 KM or 200,000 MILES

thanks in advance

Rebuild when signs of imminent damage emerge. Until then drive that sum bitch!

No motor requires a rebuild after any certain amount of miles. You can blow one in under 1 mile or have one last for nearly 300k.

Yep don't replace anything unless its broken, that is the honest mechanics moto, notice I said honest, my father has work for various foriegn auto shops and all of them the boss tells him to replace things that arn't broken, that pretty much the main reason he is out of work, cause my dad does what needs to be done and doesn't listen to the boss then he gets fired, but how could you live with yourself after ripping off an unlimited amount of rich moms that drive mercedes?

While there are a few who would argue differently I think driving it till it blows is the best tactic

I know some people who have the money will choose to build a motor and have it ready for when the one in the car blows but what fun is that?

it depends on whether you're planning to get a j-spec, buy a rebuilt engine, or get your current engine rebuilt. if you plan on replacing the engine entirely, then go for broke and blow it good! but if you plan on getting it rebuilt, get it done once the compression starts getting low (lack of power, hard starts, burns too much oil/coolant) but before it drops an apex seal. if an apex seal cracks or whatever, theres a pretty good chance that it will wreck the housing, making the rebuild a lot more expensive.
