can you use a turbo oil metering pump on an n/a ?

Hi Folks,
just a quick question, can you use a turbo oil metering pump on an n/a ?

on the mazdatrix site they both look the same but have different part numbers and after looking at the fsm the turbo puts out more oil.

the reason I am asking is because they are much easier to come by here where I live and was wondering if they were an option.

mine is leaking from the actual shaft, there is about 3-4mm of play in the shaft in and out and even when the engine isnt running if you put your finger under the shaft and operate the linkage up and down you get oil on your fingers.

my car is a 12/85 fc n/a.

Thanks,
Much Appreciated.

I don't think there's any difference in the mounting, and the difference in flow is pretty minimal. It's certainly not going to hurt anything to have a little extra oil lubricating the seals.

yea thats what I was thinking , a bit extra oil flow would be good but the part numbers for the oil lines are different and I dont know if the na ones will fit the turbo pump.

I did get lucky though last night and found a fella here who is wrecking an na and he says he does have the pump and the lines I need.

I have been asking for months at various rotary wreckers here in australia and they tell me the same thing, that they are very rare to find as most of the parts they do have are from turbo front cuts and they dont really bring in na front cuts so you can only get the bits off a car thats being parted out.

Thanks for the reply RotaryRocket88,
Much Appreciated.

the metering pumps are the same externally, so the metering lines will bolt right up to the NA or turbo pump. the difference in the lines is up at the top somewhere (actually i think the turbo lines have insulation)
