fc carbon hoods probably are not as common/in demand so they will probably be around 400 or so. esp when these came with aluminum hoods people probably dont flock to carbon units.
You probably dont wanna go too cheap either because some companys will use some cheap clear resin in the hood that will turn milky in due time.

Best price for the vis racing hood .. These hoods are good, from what i've heard. Your going to want something good for durability, fitment, and function. Average price on these is 600-700.

I got VERY lucky and found a good shape used one on local Craigslist for $200, Carbon Creations. Had to drive out to Palm Springs to pick it up, but not that far from Chino Hills and well worth it.
And, better still, excellent fitment with minimal gags some of the aftermarket hoods have.

cheap carbon fiber will just be knock off carbon fiber hoods. look into a reputable site, i hear real carbon fiber hoods are hard to dent and so on. if yours dent right away. have a happy new year with the cheap carbon fiber hood.

Good Carbon Fibre is not cheap. Conversely, cheap Carbon is not good. Typically a good Carbon product has been produced using a resin system compatable for the brand of Carbon (yes there are diffrent brands and types / grades) and the resin system has been UV stabilized. UV stabilized resin is essential for any resin that will be exposed to long term sunlight. (Ensures that the "Clear" does not yellow with time due to UV exposure) Also, Carbon comes in diffrent grades, 3k/6k/12k etc. etc. ALSO, Carbon comes in many diffrent "Weaves" since Carbon is created on a textile LOOM. (Just like a cloth) 2x2 Twill (2 strands under, 2 strands over) is most common to see on an aftermarket Carbon product for cars. Also, seen quite commonly is the "Checker Pattern" Carbon which is actually a 1x1 matte. Call your prospective aftermarket Carbon retailer / distributor and ask if they have the technical specs on the part you are wanting to purchase. Ensure that the resin system has been UV stabilized for outdoor use (polyurethane and vinylester are typically the types of resin systems used unless they happen to be very high tech and are using Epoxy resin systems)
Then, FITMENT of the product comes into play. Ask around and hit the scene to see some people who own the product you want to purchase and ask them how hard or easy it was to put on the car and make it look CORRECT....
Do some research, and good luck...

Just be warned... the t2 hoods can take a little longer than usual to get. Usually around two weeks as long as we don't have to reorder. I try to keep a lot of the FD stuff in stock. I'm waiting on some new cf projector headlight housings to come in right now I'm siked.
In regard to the cheap carbon fiber... You'll want to make absolutely sure you keep your hood waxed with something clear coat safe. I've found mother's works well. The carbon is good and the construction is good but the clear can fade if you neglect it. This can be avoided but not if you don't want to shell out another $400.
