you can use just about any alternator on your car as long as it is wired up the right way, a s5 and s5 turbo are the same, you can put an s6 on tthere as well, I have a s6 on my s4, had to modify a pully and get a new pigtail but it all works, you can put an s6 on yours with no modification i think, (search if you plan on doing it though)

So unbolt it and rotate the terminal so it fits. It's not that difficult.

I've series five alt on series four n/a and series four TurboII, and frankly I've forgotten what/which is the stock *B* terminal nor which has the plug on side (n/a I'm fairly sure) or which had the plug on the aft side of the alt.

But like the man said, you can rotate the *B* terminal, but there's a *dog* that I had to buzz off with a mikita grinder (plastic nub, took two seconds to off it). See jpg for the diff b/t the two alt.

Alts from every major store fail; they all carry the same brands. Find a good alternator shop or hold on to your warranty paperwork. It's a gamble each time. You can be lucky the first time or get 3 bad ones in a row. Heck, hold on to your warranty paperwork even at a good alternator shop, to be safe. Oh ya, it doesn't matter how good their warranty sounds you're still just as likely to use it. Most of the major alt companies expect a large number of failures and just don't care. That's why warranties give replacements not refunds, and only if you return the broken core so they can rebuild it again.
