can i make the water pump housing solid?
the stud brace for the water pump housing (under alternator) is broken on the car i jsut bought. i have heard that this is a problem experienced by others, its causing the water pump gasket to blow all the time, and i need to fix it.
so im wondering what point there is to the housing being removable, and would it be detrimentle (sp?) for me to make it more solid, like if i were to put a new gasket on, bolt everything down, and then do some sort of "weld" or "cold weld" like JB WELD or another form of strong adhesive to keep the gasket from blowing.
so in short, why would i NEED to remove teh WP housing aside from the gasket there?

yah, an engine teardown would be .. well, problematic if you did that. Post some pics of what you mean -- I can't visualize what you're talking about. Maybe there's someway to fix the mount?
