ok, I have decided on going with a t-66 bb turbo. I need to know the approximate specs and size of the tial wastegate for 400rwhp.

greddy 2 row is a good intercooler kit. It'll be great for the power you want to push. Try to get an HKS mani or a good replica. I'd get a tial 42 mm, and go with a tial bov also. Look, if T-62's can make over 500whp with an .84 a/r rear housing, I'm sure a T66 could get there easily. I don't know what it puts down at 15 lbs, but 18 lbs on T66 & .84 a/r rear, street ported 13BREW put down around 440 rwhp on 93 octane. Good luck with everything!

R-Spec is better and it only costs like 50 to 75 bucks more.

I like the Greedy FMIC kit alot, however I do think the price is kind of steep, but you get what you pay for, and that is a damn nice IC. The quality is very good, and its a beautiful work of art. Ive also heard that the APEXI IC's are the best in the business. I remember I saw a GT-R APEXI IC Core, and that thing looks sick, from what ive seen and heard the fin design on the APEXI IC is far superior to the Greedy Core. Also you cant go wrong with a Spearco IC Core, and just fabricate your own piping. Spearco makes one of the best IC's, and they also offer custom work according to your specs.

If you can have someone make your own piping I suggests you get a PTE mid size intercooler. It has a thicker core, and is a bit longer than the greddy 2-row, but this isn't offered as a kit... So you would have to have some piping done. Ohhh, I suggest you go 2 1/4" piping hot side and 2 3/4 " piping on the cold side. I believe you should also place the TIAL BOV closer to the intake mani and elbow, this will extend life on your motor. And you shouldn't get any compressor surge either.

You don't think the hks ssqv is any good for the application? I was thinking of going with the Greddy rspec front mount and my hks ssqv welded on close to the intake.

Could you please explain about the benefit of the different size piping on the hot/cold side. Also how would placing the TIAL BOV closer to the intake manifold extend the life of your motor ?

You shouldnt have a problem at all with your HKS BOV.
I personally just like Greedy products better thats just my preference though. Oh by the way Jesus who closed your motor ?

T66BB sounds like its going to be a sweet turbo

I have a TIAL 46. Great gate, worth the extra $$$. Materials and machining is top notch.

Don't skimp with the WG. Its an important part of your system.

The only issue with the TIAL BOV is that the rotary spring supplied doesn't always work too well. People where experiencing compressor surge (it works fine for me. Mine is located right after the compressor, so maybe that is why)

I remember maxthe7man was in contact with TIAL a while ago about changing the rate on the spring. Maybe he can give you more insight.

Some friend of the shop where I was going, he finished up the job and took care of a few mistakes that the original mechanic had left behind. I might be looking into trading my ssqv for a type s but not sure.

Ill pm him right now about it, Im trying to figure out if the t-66 bolts on to the hks manifold, I think the footprint is a T4. Not sure though. I have heard of nothing but good things about tial wastegates.

HKS ssqv BOV are good, I just prefer tial. I don't think it'll really make a difference. As far as the tial 46mm wastegate, let me just say "GOOD WASTEGATE." I also suggest you have the piping dump, instead of rerouting it back to your exhaust piping, it'll give you a bit more power.

yes the T66 bolts onto the HKS manifold
MikeL had it

Remember T66 pushes out more volume per PSI then a 60-1
So its fuel needs are more PSI to PSI........... you get the drift

PT67 and To4R are also great turbo's
They have a nice range

yeah, I get what your saying kabooski, don't you think with a standalone and 2 1600cc/min and 2 550cc/min will be more than enough?

For only 400 rwhp that'll be enough, trust me. Now if you want to push 500 rwhp or more you may want to get bigger primaries, maybe 850cc's.

for what boost levels?

I do not like the 550/1600 combo (staging gap to be precise)

My combo 850X1600

leaves you with a nice room to grow
the staging is much much crisper and super smooth

Most eveyone one was pushing the 720X1600 combo(GSL-SE injectors) <------- which was the big thing here in CF
now there pushing my setup

I agree with kabooski. Maybe you should try a 720cc and 1300cc injector set up, I think that'll be enough. My set up is 2 RC Engineering 850cc's and 2 Bosch 1600cc's, and I'm planning to boost 28 lbs on a T-62.

28lbs is alot of boost, I want to stay at a streetable range. I already ordered my bosch 1600's and am now thinking about upgrading my primaries........hmm.......
