Can I beat a...?

How fast is a Mercury Cougar V6? Faster than a stock 87 NA? Probably, huh? Damn...i hate it when shitty cars like Mercury's are faster than kickass cars like RX7's.

Thanks

Cougar? If it's an XR-7... ***** it up for me... what a rip off those guys at Mercury are... Screw them! Throw in Intake, Headers, Exhaust and you'll mess up a stock Cougar, if you can drive...

Some of those things have 5.0's in them. I believe they were all AOD though.

What year??? Gonna depend entirely on what year. Some of the later models that are built in the Mazda 626 factory have the 200HP Duratec V6 (with FWD ha ha ha). The later ones are really 2 door Ford Contour sports.

Its a 99 or a 2000, it has the V6. I checked the website and it says the V6 is 170HP, not 200. I think it will be close, but I'll lose by a car length.

If I remember correctly, those V6 cougars(new ones) weigh about 3200 lbs. Thats nearly F body territory, what an overbloated pig. With a few basic mods, you shouldnt have too much of a problem with one. Im pretty sure they run mid to high 15's with a good driver.

The new one's are slow. We had one on the lot that I work at and I was very disappointed. I was going to take it as my demo until I drove it.

UGH!

They run 8.0 0-60, and 16.2 in the standing 1/4 mile.
(Source Automobile Magazine, the SPEED issue)

An NA RX-7 of your year runs a 7.8 in the 0-60, and a 16.2 in the 1/4...

Source : ( http://2ndgenrx7.freeservers.com/ )

so overall it will be DRIVER SKILL

Superchargers don't "kick in" like a turbo, they are on all the time.
