Can it handle it! Long drive
**** i would get better gass milage the further i drove. like when i drove 300miles to Bakersfield i got an average of 24mpg same when i drove 700 miles to idaho. shoot i would say the longer you drive them in one trip the better they do. if i drive like 40 miles on the highway i get maybe 17mpg
I drove my 88 GTU N/A roughly 5600 miles over a two week period a couple of year ago. Two oil changes, and a re-tightening of the front wheel axle bearings was all it needed. Mountains, plains, didn't matter, and I got about 26MPG at 60-80 MPH.
I still wouldn't hesitate the drive the same distance today.

I've noticed that the more I drive my car the better it runs. I did 750 miles in a weekend last november and that thing ran great. Since then it has been sitting in the garage because of a PD change and now it wont hardly run.
not e-bay.... i don't have pay pal. i do so much driving in my seven i drive to the coast i drive to other states i drive big circles i drive, i drive, i drive, all over and the interesting thing is my car needs work. but i treat it mostly well and it seems to return the favors. i don't know what your car is like but i almost wont buy any thing but a seven. every one i have ever owned was like that, just drove endlessly. seems to me if you maintenance it regularly and are as paranoid as i am about new noises and lights and strange beeps and buzzers there is almost nothing that will stop the damn thing. with the acceptation of a cupple of things. 1, sixteen year old street racer kids blowing syncros. and 2 a ford f-350 super duty. as i have discovered the later dose the most harm to the Mazda.
