no need to flame him. hehe, many people have used different routing methods.
Here are some pics of how i did mine:
I wanted to keep my windsheild fluid bottle and didnt feel the brake duct area would see as much intial airflow as opposed to the radiator area. My coolant overflow bottle fits in it's orginal spot. it's been removed in the pics so you could get a better view.
i used 3 inch alum piping throughout. when i get the funds ill replace all the rubber couplers with silicon, including the big contraption coming out of the afm which got a little too excessive for my needs.
Gains are very noticable throughout the powerband. cant wait to tune my safc with it. if you want detailed step by step instructions i wouldnt mind doing a writeup or answering questions... but there are so many quality CAI writeups already on the forum.

Interesting location. I'd be really curious what the difference in performance would be between in front of the radiator or in the brake duct. I'm going to be doing a CAI very soon.

i do feel sort of a ram air effect by having it in the front grille. i wish i did before and after dyno runs to see the torque effect but that takes time and $$$. I dunno how the brake duct location would perform, i just didnt think it would get as much of an instant hit of air. plus the radiator fan does keep it cool at idle.

hhmm all that time i spent doing the write up and nobody uses it because the damn pics dont work.... i did my write up about 5 months before that one and listed where to get the aluminum piping... check the archive for a true cold air intake thread under my name... and then check the sig for a pic of it... the only working one left... one day ill update the thread if anybody asks me too

oh and for crying out loud just buy a bit that cuts through metal like a router does with wood... dont drill 100 holes in a circle... hell buy a dremel if you need too.. im sure his knuckles hurt like hell... but i got to give him props for finding new ways to cut out a hole.. must have been a bitch... or use a plasma cutter like me took about 10 seconds

next mod: remove ACV dump silencer so that my car can moo at me...
also, make sure you have a good setup for the cold air intake, especially on an S5. i am saying that because the stock 'snorkel' actually works quite well, and on the S5s there is even a little deflector that keeps the intake car enclosed and restricted to cold air...well, at least i haven't seen this on S4s...

Heres an idea for a CAI. Its a 5th gen prelude CAI I test fitted before I gutted it for intercooler piping. If you dont have a washer fluid resivor on the passenger side there'll be a hole you can make bigger to put piping through.

rear mounted intake. It sounds stupid and your car always looks turned on, but I know a guy that did it (as well as a rear mounted turbo) and it actually works. I never tried this because I'm not nearly creative enough to run YET ANOTHER 3" pipe under the car...
