A/C Problem
Did the search and it really didnt tell me anything.Just recharged the A/C and now the idle drops down and it dies.I've read some posts and they say check the BAC.
Ignorance being what I have at the moment,what is the BAC and what does it do?Shouldnt the car have some kind of A/C idle compensation when the A/C is turned on?Tried turning up the idle,but it gets worse no matter which way I turn it.

Like I said new to this rotary stuff(small block ford guy)
Went to pull off the BAC,and the damn thing wasn't even hooked up.works fine now.I got the car from my brother(or should I have to say saved the car)last week and have been having to reconnect and readjust things he worked on.No telling what I'll run into next.Thanks for the help.

Bypass air control. BAC. Meaning the air is bypassed around the throttle plates thru the BAC. The bac gets its signal from the ECU. A input from the a/c panel to the ECU tells the ECU to change the bac's frequency/duration/duty cycle ...yeah, jacks up the idle speed. Several things will cause the bac to *jack up the idle speed*.
I wrote a answer on a post this very day describing how to determine if the bac is working and receiving a signal from the ECU.
I think you have a non-turbo engine....so the bac is on the left side of the intake. Cylindrical in shape...two wire connector....parts of it are dark blue/green.....non adjustable on a 88 non turbo.
Like everything in life, there is only one right and one left. It's determined by sitting in the drivers seat and looking in a fwd direction. That's to clarify where the bacs location is.
