I also have an 87; a T2.
There was no AC when I bought it and I am in the process of installing it now.
Compressor cost about $320
Drier $25
I got the mount and bolts from the Salvage yard for about $20
Condensor was still in place (you can buy em brand new for $200 or used for $50)
Still having problems locating the proper refrigerant lines, Mazda doesnt make them anymore. If they did, $250. At the Salvage yard, $10
So there ya go

ive only seen nippon denso 10p15's compressors in s4/5 rx7,these cars use the old ozone depleating gas (r-12) so dont just vent it when you pull the a/c out. Any decent a/c shop will retro fit it to the new r-134a and can custom make up hoses and stuff and fit a new filter and regass it, just phone around I guess.

Well, I just took out my AC system (everything minus evaporator and lines behind dash). I don't know yet if I want to let it go. I'd probably sell for the right price. I believe the compressor is Sanden.
