bypassing the injector resistor??

When i drive my car past 3500 rpm, it just loses power, i have been told by several people that it's the injector resistor, and i can just bypass it. How do i go about doing this, and will it hurt performance or damage anything??
Jason
Oh yeah, i was having a hard time starting the car a couple of weeks ago, and when i would shake the injector resistor box, the car would start and run fine.

86 thru the first half of 87 had a solenoid resistor pack located about a foot below the afm. Your car should not have one of those. What resistor are you talking about. Where is it located?

The only way to bypass it is to run 88 13ohm injectors...then you can run jumper wires across the terminals and leave out the resistor pack. IF you unplug it now, the car wont run. IF you run jumper wires now, with your current 3 ohm injectors, you'll fry the ecu.

Hey hyp, im sure it's the resistor, because i put a friends on my car, and it ran great, thats really wierd, b/c in all reality i dident think that was the problem either, But we had to put his back on, so im stuck with my old one, and cant seem to find one, the junkyard over here, has 3 86's, but none have them... is it just a 87+ thing?
Oh, and im in process of getting that t2, bought it, just havent transported it here yet, thats why it's in the profile.

Hmmm...well if you think that's it then give me your address and Ill send you another one to try...I should have at least 1 or 2 spares. IT'll be the first time Ive ever heard of it causing a problem if it does fix it.

On the 90 t2, great find man, now you got a daily driver and a weekend hellraiser both. Got any pics?

If it belongs there, don't mess with it.

If it was somebody's joke to stuff a resistor pack into your car which doesn't need it, they should be shot.

I got a pair of 91 550's that I would like to install. I got the plugs and everything. Can someone tell me exactly what wires to jump? Can I leave the secondaries low impedance and only jump the primaries? I got 12A turbo secondaries (720).

It still shouldn't have a resistor pack.
