Cool Buzzer Noise Grrrrr...

Hey guys ive checked the faqs and everythin and did it but this is still not workin

for me the buzzer noise still buzzes no matter what is there away to kill that

buzzer noise it reads low coolant but theres plenty in the radiatior and the

resovor so how can i take out whatever makes that buzzing noise??? oh and the

alarm ok thanks everyone...

(How do I kill that buzzer in the dash that goes off when the cooling system or oil

is low?

You need to bleed the coolant or fill the oil. The buzzer is there to help you from

blowing up your motor. ) *Thats from the FAQs

to kill the alarm, just ground the coolant level sensor on top of the radiator, but *I* wouldnt do it.

Have you even tried bleeding the coolant system?

Adding more coolant isn't bleeding it.

the way that circuit is designed, when the coolant touches the sensor, the sensor grounds, and the buzzer stays off.

by grounding it, you are just bypassing that sensor.

yes, jjust touch it to any grounded part, wait about 5 seconds, and the buzzer will stop, provided that the coolant sensor was the problem in the first place

of course!

but it could be a bubble in the cooling system, search on how to actually "bleed" it, it can be harder than just squeezing the rad hose

The buzzer means there's a problem with your car that could lead to you getting a new engine... The best way to kill the buzzer is to fix your problems.

I realize thats the obvious answer... but, its the best one IMO.

Bleed your radiator.

Here's the proper instructions for filling a radiator.

1. Put the heater in the HOT position (you'll need to turn the ignition on first to operate the stepper motor). Leave the heater on until your test drive at the end.

2. Make sure both the engine and radiator drain plugs are installed.

3. Remove the filler cap on top of thermostat housing, the radiator cap and the bleeder on the side of the top radiator neck.

4. Begin filling the water/coolant mix through the radiator neck until it reaches the top, then replace the radiator cap.

5. Continue filling through the filler neck until the bleeder overflows, and replace the bleeder cap (don't over tighten it or you'll ruin the plastic plug). Continue filling until the water/coolant reaches the top of the filler neck.

6. Start the engine and let it idle. The water level will probably drop a bit when the engine starts as the pump pushes the water into air pockets. Keep topping up the system as necessary.

7. Keep the engine running until the thermostat opens. You can tell when this happens as there might be another drop in water level, and the top radiator hose will start to warm up.

8. When the engine has reached operating temp and no more air bubbles are appearing in the filler neck, replace the filler cap.

9. Fill up the overflow bottle to the correct level.

10. Go for a test drive, keeping an eye on the temp gauge. Make sure the engine reaches full operating temp but does not exceed it, and check the heater operates properly.

11. On your return, once the engine has cooled down, recheck the level at the filler cap (not the radiator cap) and the overflow bottle.

but seriously.. fix the problem?! that should be the ONLY answer to this post? unless there was something seriously wrong with the buzzer itself that was keeping it on.

+1

The idiot lights are known to have problems, so they should only be used as a backup to the buzzer for information.

That is just stupied. Why don't you fix the car correctly, instead of busting it further???

And even if the sensor is bad... it is a $25 part... less than a tank of gas or an Oil change. You'd rather bust the car further than pay $25 to fix it???

Just stupied

What is that guide saying about Filler cap, not radiator cap? As far as i know, isnt the radiator cap the point from which you fill the system? Or am I just stupid? The cap on the thermostat housing, at least on S4's

There's one cap on the radiator and one cap on the water pump neck. You use both. Refer to steps 4 and 5.

If you follow the main hose from the rad to the engine, there should be another rad cap at the engine end. This one is at a slightly higher elevation. Take this cap off as well as the rad cap. Fill the rad to the nuts then start adding water to the upper filler until you see it spill out the lower filler on the rad. Now cap the rad and add a little more water to the upper filler and cap it too. This trick has always worked for me. I had a slow coolant loss that I could never track down, so I would have to do this a couple times a year. Even the slightest bit below absolutly full would sound the buzzer. Maybe not all 2nd gens have this upper filler but the ones I've seen have.

when you are "burping the System",and Letting the Coolant Circulate ..Turn the Interior Heater ON..Full Blast..it helps to get rid of Air in the Heater Core.Once you squeezed the rad hoses, and you see that the coolant is Circulating, and getting Warm, then fill as much as Possible, and then Cap the Rad,add Coolant at the Thermostat neck til it is Full,Then Seal it up.add some extra the Overflow.Go for a drive..Look at the Level on the Overflow. It will tell you if you have Sufficient Coolant...Once your Temp guage says That you are "OK".(at a Safe Operating temp)..Shut it down. then have another Look at the Coolant Level,WHEN THE Engine is COLD.
