Busted rotor housing, what now?
Hi,
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 13B, I just disassembled my 87 TII engine. I have found 2 rotor housings with cracks in it... What are my options now?
I'm hoping for an alternative to buying new rotor housings. I did a quick search on Ebay and the private seller forum, but seems like most of them are for S5. Would S5 TII rotor housing work on S4 TII?
Thanks in advance,
Jack

well you have 4 options:
1. buck up and buy new housings
2. post a wtb ad in the classifieds sections, though i would recommend against buying anything until you see the part in person (people might sell you crap)
3. buy an engine in known running or known rebuildable condition off someone on the forums
4. but a jspec from a vendor (i hear japan2la is good).
Those are pretty much your options. Buying the housings off someone in the forums is going to be your cheapest.

Check the FS section on this forum. Just do you research with the seller (have they sold before? what's their post count?) just to get an idea. I've been bought A LOT of parts from members here (including the guy above my post ) and haven't had a problem. Unless you have a stupid amount of money to blow, buying new is extremely costly.

Hell, I have a rear S4 TII iron I want to sell and I'd let it go cheap. PM me if you're interested. Photos here, note the titles so you know which ones are which:

I've bought and sold a fair amount of stuff on here, too, and I've gotten good feedback.

I decided to look into used housings, have a quick question tho. Would a S4 13B iron work on a S4 13BTII?
Just curious since my housing only says "13B" on it.

Yes, they are different. 13b housings have 5th & 6th ports and the 13bt has a coolant passage for the turbo and a place for the knock sensors. Plus a couple other small differences.
