Burning Way Too Much Oil

I have just under 800 miles on my rebuild and its starting to burn oil really bad. At first it was just on start up. I thought maybe the seals still needed some time to settle, but since I passed 500 miles, it seems to be getting worse. I can see the smoke comming out of the exhaust at idle now and I'm going through about a quart of oil per tank of gas. I have a street ported 13BT in my FC and I am currently using 94 octane. I get approx 240 miles to a tank. I've been following the breakin proceedure from FC3S Pro so, no boost or WOT. Just gentle acceleration to 3000 rpm, sometimes I take it up to 4000 rpm but no more.

Any help would be great.

he said it smokes on startup so that would mean the oil is in his combustion chambers, it might be your turbo also. my car was like that, i was burning oil from both my rings and my turbo, and since my turbo change i have reduced alot of burning. what weight oil are u running also??

I'm running 10 w30 Halvolien. How can I localize the oil leak to the turbo? Is there an easy way?

There isn't any oil leaking on my driveway. Everything is burning.

i dont know exactly how to tell if your smoking all the time, but try running a heavier oil like 20w50. that should slow it down a little bit.

The only other thing (because nobody chimed in on the turbo thing) is that you mat not have seated your oil control rings properly. One may be placed in the wrong direction. Remeber the spring has to go in the slot on the rotor. The spring had to be facing the right direction. The control ring had to sit on the tab of the spring just right. The o-ring itself was a bitch to seat as well.

Just recalling what could cause oil sepage on a fresh rebuild.
