You're talking about the clear Flash-to-pass lenses right?

On an older car (sorry no pics), I removed both lenses and simply cut off the plastic brackets that they were bolted too. It looked pretty decent and you could say it allows more air into the engine bay (though you'd kinda be lying ).

On my currect 2nd gen, I polished the FTP's up real well so I can run my headlights down for daytime running lights. This looks outstanding and is the way to go, if you can get your hands on some different lenses.

Yep, definately polish them up, they look great when they actually look like they were supposed to...not 15 years old and hazy. Here are some pics of a set I just polished up...amazing what ~10 minutes and some polishing compound can do

Just get some polishing compound (buffing compound would probably work also, although it is a bit more grainy- or some hand glaze, etc..) and then either rub it by hand, or if it is very bad hit it with a buffing wheel. Viola! Nice , clear FTPs.

If there is moisture inside, then the seal is leaking somewhere. Remove them, dry them out completely, then find the seal leak and fix it.

Just shave them: its a good way to learn to use bondo. Looks fantastic too. Real clean. I'd post some pics but I don't have a digital camera.
