building another engine...

so since i found out my front rotor blew last night caused by the DAM AFM..i'm gonna throw the 9:1 rotors in the engine this time. i have 2 good ones,...thats all i have no counter weight, bo nothing, except the rotors.
my question is, can i use the front s4 turbo ll counterweight and s4 turbo to flywheel?? with the s5 turbo rotors in the block?? wouldnt that balance the engine since it would still be s4 front weight with s flywheel?? thanks guys..

^ How so? The rotor just changes the compression. As long as the front and rear are balanced with the proper weights, the rotors are balancing in the middle (assuming they are matching weight rotors). It's the flywheel or counter weight you don't want to alter between series.

yeah i was thinking it would be fine as long as i have matching balances such as flywheel and counterweight! :/
cause im pretty sure having the same or 'close' to same weight rotors would be 'balanced' with each other since there 180 degrees off.

If you are talking about S5 rotors vs s4 rotors, I think the S5 rotors are lighter than the S4. If this is true, then it would def be out of balance, using counterweights from and S4.

Also, if it didn't matter about the counter weights, why do the S5 cw's weigh different from the S4's?

you need to swap the whole rotating assembly meaning that you need s5 front and rear CW with the 9.1 rotors

that's what i am running right now. s5t2 rotors and s5t2front-rear counterweight and lightweight flywheel in an 88aemotor.

In principle you are correct, but remember that the rotors are rotating about an axis and not fully opposed to each other. Plus the rotors should not be treated like a pinpoint of weight as they have mass and size.

If you are running s5 rotors, you need the s5 counterweights. The weight of the rotors changes from series to series, and if you are using mismatched counterweights then the entire rotational assembly is going to be mismatched as well.

what rotors are 9.1:1? The S4 rotors have 9.4:1 compression.

^ This thread is in turbo land. So the 9.1 was a typo for S5 9:1.
