Turned out much in the same way I'd expect it to.

I ordered them from www.mazdatrix.com all by myself!! I do not think that my DYI fix will end up with the same results as his did.

It's actually not just shoe goo... there are plastic inserts in the gaps you can't see, the shoe goo is filler.

The photo he took is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, the plastic inserts are still captive and doing their thing.

Filling the empty gaps in the bushing with something is going to have a impact, no matter what... but I know, alot of you guys on this forum have trouble accepting anything that didnt cost a paycheck

Wether it is noticable? I dunno, maybe next time I have my rear end apart I'll give it a go.

I agree, it was a hyperbole.

At mazdatrix the rear mounts are $85/each, for blocks of rubber....

On the GRM forum there are a number of references to this method as a "trick" for stiffening miata and rx7 diff mounts, sounds like it works.

i did something similar with a broken engine mount on my 1st gen, but i used urethane instead of shoe glue.. filled in the entire mount and let it dry overnight. stuck it in next day and it's still holding up.. though the car needs a motor..
