my stock t2's got enough go for me... the 1 thing I'd mod for would be reduced turbo lag. the whole 'varying power at the same revs wot' thing is a killer in the mountains...

I dont know why it seems like theres so much doubt on the NA side of the camp about their cars ability?

 

so, if you had a N/A and a TII equally modded and having exactly the same horsepower and gearing on the same track or mountain road which one would win/handle better?

personally I think the lack of a turbo would be an advantage.

with the same peak horsepower, a t2 will **** over an na for driveability... but then there's good old turbo lag. Not too much of an issue for me even with the stock turbo once I'm high enough in the revs, but none would be better

i have a 1985 gsl-se, it has an 88 na motor in it, with headers and an intake. its slow, maybe high 15's low 16s, the only wieght reduction was to take the coins out of the ashtray. we took it to thunderhill and with a good driver it actually ran decent lap times. all day. with the tach buried at 8k. it drifts well too

Well I have driven both cars my 89GXL modded and an 87 turbo 11 with blowoff valve. That turbo really made me smile. I laughfed a couple of times to from the enjoyment. I drove another turbo car but nothing beats the turbo 7. Its really fun. BUT my N/A revs so much higher and for longer periods of time... Its also fun. Since I have driven both I can say that i like both equally as well. But I got rid of the turbo because I couldnt find a good engine to swap with the blown one.

By the way my N/A is still faster than it when me and my friend draged in it. I have lots of custom mods.
