kinda stupid question but is there any other way to bleed the brakes instead of through the bleeder screw. the bleeder screw is stripped and i cant get it out. ive tried a bolt extractor but it still wont come out.

Brakes are something that it's worth the money to fix correctly.
If it were me, I would spring the cash for a replacement caliper. It seems that the last one I bought was only like $60 with a core exchange. That's well worth the safety and hassle.
Or, you could try removing the caliper and heating it with a torch to expand the housing to loosenthe screw. Too hot and you will melt the seals inside though, and you will end up replacing it anyways.

Turbo power, activate!

+1 for the vice grip.
Get it as tight as possible and turn it out. You can then get new bleeder screws, or the self bleeder screws if you want to make things easier in the future.
If the screw doesnt come out, then you are going to need new calipers, since its the easiest way and possibly the safest way to remedy the problem.

yea i figured to get new calipers. i already tried the vice grips and it just broke the screw off completely. it was a very weak screw. now heres the best part about my story. back in december i got caught stealing bolt extractor set from walmart (i know already so dont say it) and went to jail over my brakes.

Have RX-7, will restore

replace the appropriate caliper or calipers. bleed in this order RR, LR, RF, LF
do not chance it if the bleeder screw had broken off in the caliper. if not, heat the caliper area up around teh bleeder screw with some map gas and use teh vise grips to remove the bleeder screw if its rounded.

You can't be serious about asking if you need front brakes.
If your brakes aren't working as it should you shouldn't be driving and risk an accident.
Your fronts are more important than rears.

front brakes do 60%-70% of the braking... they're important (thats why they're bigger)
the same thing happened to my corolla, luckily it broke off after I was done with it and I was tightening it, I've been driving around with it for a while like that but I have another caliper sitting in my closet to swap on next time I do my brakes....
also, I highly recommend getting some speed bleeders (speedbleeder.com). If you break them off in your caliper you can send them your caliper and they'll get it out for free or replace your caliper
