Brake bleed question
Sorry, this might be elementary, but do I need to bleed the ABS unit when bleeding the brake system?
I can't seem to get adquate pedal pressure.
There are two nipples on the unit, should I do both?

So is that a yes, you are supposed to?
I've just never read instruction citing it a step in bleed the brakes, wanted to make sure it was a necessary or beneficial step. Or are the bleeders there for another purpose?

Ok, sorry if it was unclear, the system has been conventionally bled, all four corners, but there are two additional bleeders on the ABS unit itself. My question is, are these infact bleeders, and is this a necessary step in bleeding the system?

That depends... I hear ABS systems are a bitch to bleed. I'll read up on the FSM to give you a more accurate answer, but in the meantime, do you feel you sucked in enough air to get bubbles in your abs system? If not, I wouldnt worry bout it.

My problem is I bleed and I bleed and the pressure is just not right. Its really frustrating. I did try bleeding through those nipples for the heck of it, I hope that was ok...

Sorry I didn't reply . It was late here. Anyway, I did a friends ABS (Acura) through the bleeders and that's all I did. I didn't touch the ones at the ABS. It worked fine. I tried to search ABS units but had no luck. Is your ABS leaking? Did you check the hoses at the calipers?
Any of the two would cause spongy feeling. I haven't heard of a different way to bleed with an ABS.
I couldn't come up with any answers through searches.
You might want to take it to Midas and ask for an estimate so they could check why the spongy feel.

Hell, it's free for an estimate and they'll tell you what needs to be done.
I agree, I hate taking it to a so called mechanic. But, they do have lifts and easy access to hard to reach parts if needed.
I swear, some gets their ASE Certification from a Cracker Jack box.
