BOV Question

On my soon to be put on Greddy Type S BOV, I see an extra nipple with no referance about It In the pictorial Instructions that come with It.

I know the top one gets routed back Into the Intake but what about the other nipple below It?

Leave it vented and connected to nothing...
For high boost/power applications, you can connect that to boost source so it stays closed longer and only opens at the last second.

Oh, my profile? I'm In the middle of the a s4 NA > S5 TII conversion. This coupled with a Microtech LT8. At first I opted to drop It In but later convinced myself to have It rebuilt, street ported and painted. Whoa!

As a matter of fact, the Motor was finished just yesterday. I'll post pics when I can.

Ted, with your latter point. Are you saying to connect It to a Boost source If I exceed 20psi? B'c I think this particular BOV Is good up to that.

Then again, I really don't think I'll run that high of a boost. What psi do you consider It suggestable to tap the lower nipple Into a Boost Source?

Some BOV's leak at lower boost levels - this is basically what that lower nipple is for.&nbsp If you're not having boost leak problems, then don't worry about.&nbsp Yeah, if you not going to come close to the rated max boost level, don't worry about it.&nbsp That fitting is more for "racing" applications with high boost levels - I dunno why they bothered to put it on a street application BOV.

Anything that'll show boost when the turbo goes into boost.&nbsp This could be almost anywhere between the turbo and the engine, but it's probably be best between the turbo and the TB?

Just wondering b/c I ordered a Greddy Type S bov about 1.5 or 2 months ago from rx7store.net. I still have not gotten it b/c it is still on back order.

Don't say that. I have a ACT Clutch and Boost Gauge ordered from there and am awaiting It for the complete conversion. It's been 2 weeks now and counting...

Interesting, this will be a true test of reputation building. Marlin and his crew seem dedicated to their work, so I'm sure it'll be a quality piece. Looking forward to seeing it.

Considering 20B-3Rotor has taken out his 20B and has since ported the snot out of It, now thats a good time. I look forward to that setup. They know what they are doing. Mine should be unleashed at the end of the month. Tops.
