bouncing idle/cant rev
i decided to do some work on my car today. i put in new spark plugs then took it for a drive. let it worm up and opened up a little bit. it ran great. when i brought it home i decided to try to see if i could figure out why it had a high idle. i heard it could be that the throttle cable is to tight. so i was checking that and i reved it a little and then i turned the part on the fron of the throttle body that i beleive is for the omp( which is removed on mine). and i reved the car a couple times useing that and then the idle dropped really low and now it bounces between 1400 and 1600. if i try to rev it it just starts bouncing between like 1800 and 2000. uh i hate myself sometimes.thanks for any help you can give me. and by the way i searched and couldnt find anything.

It sounds like you turned the wrong screw. The screw on the front is the TPS and the screw on top is the idle. Seems you knocked you TPS out of sync. You will have to adjust your TPS before you can even think about messing with the idle. I just went through that.
Thanks to a few people here on the forum i was able to get mine stable.

So I've been having a simular problem with my T2 but this would proably affect an NA in the same way. The B+ Wire on the alternator. was shorting out so I tryed just going from there to the fuse block and got nothing no power to the inside but I then added a secound wire and kept the existing wire (this is a temp fix) and put a secound wire to the fuse box. didn't have that issue this morning. I found it was this wire because I moved it around and it changed the idle then I just moved it around till it sounded right and would run good the rest of the day.

i messed with it a little last night with out a multimeter. gave it a halfturn one way, then the other to see if anything helped and it didnt. so i drove with it unplugged a little last night since it runs ok that way. then today i plugged it back in and fired her up and she runs perfect.wtf?!?!?! im still gonna set it when i get the meter but thats so weird!
