Talking Bought a 91 Rx-7.. killer deal..weird car.

The previous owner must be on here somewhere...

I just bought a 91 rx-7. It is red with black interior (pictures will be up tomorrow)
It has T2 wheels (s5) and a 4 port motor with s5 6 port manifolds.
The car has a Wolf3d standalone and Jacops rotary ignition pack.
It also has the 5th and 6th blocked off and has a header...

Car ran and drove but mice had eaten the coolant lines going to the manifold so it was loosing coolant prety bad out of the hoses.

The car is in near mint shape body wise BUT has a steel hood.. (wtf)

Came with a matching 91 Automatic. with great black interior and the body is straight..

I will post pics up soon.. But I am a Wolf3d dummy, what the heck is it and how do you use it to tune?

wow, you got a cluster **** of a car.

Has a standalone, but no good reason for one. Has a 4 port motor, but a 6 port manifold.

At least you know that those bastard mice that chewed through the coolant hose have died of anti-freeze posioning.

The wolf3d forum would be an AWESOME place to start with the software part. My guess is a laptop and software.

Since you have a standalone already that car sounds like a great oppurtunity to justify a BP rebuild.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The owner of Auto Haus (repair shop) here in Murfreesboro had those cars parked at his shop a few years back. Apparently they belonged to his son. He wanted like 5K for both of them. I had to turn him down at the time. The guy was acting crazy.

Sidenote: Garfinkle is friends with the owner of the shop, when they finally got rid of the cars, he gave David a whole buttload of parts removed from the cars (AFM's and such)

I hope you got a good deal. (How much for the Wolf and wheels Trevor?)

Do you know any more info about either of the cars? The story i got was..

"The 5 speed was being prepped for "drifting" and the guy I bought them from has fully restored the interior. The engine is a 4 port (running na) (not for long)...

Car runs and drives fine, the A/c has been completely gutted.. it has an electric fan too..

THe guy who bought it three years ago knows nothing about Rx-7's and it has been sitting unregistered as he couldn't get it to pass emmisions... "

The auto is supposed to have a crate Mazda reman with 20k miles on it....

Either way I stole these cars....

All I know Trevor is the guy who bought them was a retard. He put the 5spd car on a flatbed and had the auto car behind on a 2 wheel dolly and the thing was nearly scraping the ground. The original owner here in the Boro was building the one car for autoX. I see some parts I'd like to have Trev!

Yeah, it's a weird duck... The guy who bought them really doesn't know much at all about the cars... I am not sure at this point what will be up for grabs.. I have no real use for the standalone, but I would need the oem parts to put on it... The wheels will probably stay but that leaves the other s5 set I have up for grabs... Other then that this one will be my track/cruise in car as I think the Vert sold today.. Guy from memphis is coming...

It may be worth the money..

or you could do it yourself for $6

I just spent a couple hours of my last day off doing mine and it's well worth it.

What do you mean, "Not a good reason for one"?

A stand alone should be a must IMHO, that's the foundation for future mods, or to extract the most HP out of the engine.

I have yet to see a NA FC with the OEM ecu (with a piggyback, to make it fair) make as much HP as a properly tuned stand alone FC.

Man, I think you are good with that 4 port engine, and with a stand alone; a RB\KGparts manifold and a proper TB....

ITB?

Or just go with a 4 port manifold, rather than going back to a 6port.

My 91 has a steel hood, and the 89 GTU also has a steel hood

What about the front calipers, 4 pistons?
