Question boost sensor not working

I just got my car back today after a 5 mon. engine replacement. The car seems to good other than floodsd like crap considering its new and never did before. AND. the factory boost guage isn't working. The car boots since I can see from the VDO but nothing on the stock one, I CHECKED and it IS plugged in.

Is it affecting my mixture and anything else?

thanks

Hey I have the exact same problem. I can hear the turbo, but nothing on the boost guage. It doesn't even show vacuum ever. Just sits at zero. We just finished rebuilding my engine and putting it back in the beast.

first of all make sure the vacuum line is firmly connected on both ends. Second of all, there is a small bevel piece that fits in the vacuum to make the hose have the same effect as a small hose but without having something so brittle. If there is no bevel piece, it probably won't read correctly. Next check to see if your vacuum line has any cracks, holes or breaks in it. If it doesn't then you should probably go about getting a new pressure sensor. The pressure sensor will effect idle when the car warms up, but I don't know if it effects performance other than that. Good luck. I had the same problem.

hmmm okay well I'm a bit confused as to what vacuum source I'm suposed to use, or if it matters. There's one nipple underneath the BAC, but that's feeding into the air bypass valve. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to T into that or what? The diagram in the manual didn't really show it.

Does your gauge even go to 0 when you turn the key on?

well that implies the gauge is getting power, check the routing for it, you can run it off the nipple on the upper intake manifold.

My line DOES have the "beveled piece" you spoke of. The lines are silicone and new. I see it gets power and I don't even care if it diesn't work as long as the other one does and it doesn't affect anything else. Like is that why my mixture is so off, Before the reuild, the boost was working and my wideband was perfect, stoich(sp) and 1 led rich at wide open throttle.

i dunno?

Well I was sort of wondering the same thing. I've driven the car a total of 40 miles, and used 1/4 tank of gas.

Yeah, it has a lot to do with your timing/fuel. Check where you have the vac line routed. A good place is the vac nipple right on the upper intake manifold right below the BAC (passanger side, facing sort of at a 45 degree angle back towards the car, right near the bolts that hold the UIM to the LIM)
