Boost problem

Alright I got my TII back today and its all done. No more cooling problems. Now I have a boost problem though. If I push it, the boost will go wayyyy up and stay there till 5k rpm. Then it will just die out. What could this be? Kinda sucks cuz rotaries are good for their top-end and I don't really have one. Please help a new turbo guy out. Thanks alot.

Well my boost is good till I hit 5000 rpms in any gear. Then it drops way off and kinda bogs down. Not really any other way to say it. I thought it could be my wastegate as well but I don't know ****.

ok that is different. i think you have an ignition problem try new plugs and wires if you haven't already done so. you might have a problem with the leading coils. another thing it could be is you have clogged cats if they are still on the car. does the car have any mods ?

This is pretty normal for a stock turbo, especially an old one and especially running higher than normal boost. It's past it's point of max efficiency and is generating alot of heat. At higher airflows, it just chokes up and can't maintain boost.

BTW, this is completely irrelevant, but has anyone else noticed that this turbo behavior has been put into Gran Turismo 3?! Stock turbos on some cars can't hold max boost in high gears!

Can you give some numbers? Or is this on the stock gauge? Cuz it's a piece of **** and you should get a real boost gauge.

NZ : GT3's boost behavior is all crazy-like. Look closely and it shows a stock FD making 1.5 BAR! I dun think so. Lots of my modded cars show 2 bar! Even when just revving the **** out of them while stopped, you get full boost. Not very realistic if you ask me

Well the car is completely stock. I just got it and haven't had a chance to do some maintence yet. The gauge goes all the way up, to like 40. Then it will drop all the way down instantly.

Well it like hesitates, but it never comes back from it. So I guess it loses power. You can hear, see(gauge), and feel it. Its like the turbo gives up after 5k. Is it a fuel cut of some kind or what? Thanks.

I'm getting one real soon here. Maybe this week. Can you suggest one? I would like to stick with APEX'i and 52mm. Haven't seen one though.
