boost drops from 0.5 to 0.3bar etc.

hi guys!

new engine, after 2 months new problem

i was drving home this day at 5 o'clock in the morning and noticed, that my exhaust sounds not the same as before... a little bite quieter and not so deep as normal...

so i've looked at my boostgauge (greddy) and noticed that i only can push 0,3bar boost... normally i can push 0,5bar (3" catback, hollowed out precat, main cat intact)
sometimes i also can boost up to 0,5bar but then the needle drops back very fast to 0,3bar...

whats the problem? main cat clogged? (whill check that on monday...) are there other possible reasons?

whenn my main cat is fu**ed up, can i hollow it out and put it back on without hitting fuelcut? (as mentioned... stock precat hollowed out, then stock maincat hollowed out, 3" catback, stock intake)

thx guys

do you have a boost controller on there? Perhaps it's failed somehow. Obviously check the exhaust system too.

the car runs great, but it only boosts 0.3 bar, and sounds a little bit higher and not so loud as before...

the car doesn't smoke or smells very rich...

no problem!? everything like 2days before... so, i think... never touch a running system

i think i will buy a apexi AVCR to keep the boost down and hollow out my maincat...

can i kepp the boost down under fuelcut with the avc-r??

Boost controllers can only raise boost, they cant lower it.

You can not LOWER boost with a boost controller. If you boost 6psi without one, that is your minimum. You can only go up.

The lower boost, you would need to port the wastegate. And... 0.5bar.. thats awefully low, isn't it? Something like 7.35psi? Why go lower? 5.5psi is factory.

okok, so there is no way then to port my wastegate...

what do you think?

will i hit fuelcut with a 3" catback, stock intake and hollowed out pre and maincat? will it gain more than 1psi boost?

if i hit fuelcut and i buy an FCD... how much boost can i drive safe on a completely stock fuel-system and ecu? i know that the limiter is the stock MAF... how long will he hold up with the boost on the stock turbo?

i don't want to port my wastegate, its time for nothing... my goal are reliable 300rwhp and so i will go BNR stage 3 in this winter...
