Boost Controller Q's?

Well first off i have a 87 turbo, full opened up exhaust intake, just installed a FMIC, and have a manual boost controller on it hitting between 10-11 psi but thats in gears 345. 1 2 are lower like 6-7 psi. Im looking at buying a electronic boost controller, do they allow the boost to be the same in all gears? say i set the boost at 12 psi is it going to hit 12psi in all gears?

no you might hit it in 2nd,
1st gear is too big to hit full boost.
stick with the manual, less headaches and get some fuel mods.

Some controllers allow you to set boost in each gear. For the most part the lower boost in 1st gear should not be an issue, more boost will equal less traction.

I have an '87 still using the stock turbo, I hit 10 psi in 2nd using a turbo smart manual controller, first gear however is still 7 psi. I don't think an electronic boost controller will help much by the time the turbo has spooled to 7 psi you'll be needing to change gears anyway, save the money and get a fat front mount if you don't have one already..
