Bonez high flow cat vs RB presilencer

my cats on the 89 NA vert need replacing and I am getting a mild streetport done over the winter .

Any advice on going with a RB downpipe ( or header) / RB presilencer VERSUS the RB DP and the Bonez high flow or superflow cat ????? ... i have stock y-pipe and dual mufflers

these are what i've found http://rx7.com/store/rx7/fcexhaust.html#Nonturbo

It would be nice to maximize the HP gains form the streetport and keep the exhaust clean ., unless the RB presilencer would be much better then the Bonez cat

Personal preference is the RB pieces.

There is also a lot of talk about the Bonez cat failing permaturely.

get the cat and just put the cat on to pass emissions and just make ur own pipe to replace it. or if u cant have ur local muffler shop make u one for cheap. i mean racing beat makes good stuff and its prolly a good product but thats pretty expensive

I won't need to pass emissions in manitoba ..... but would like to anyway as long as the HP gain and noise increase / tone from the Borla are OK compared to the RB presilencer.

i did search the threads and couldn't really find any direct answer on the borla HP comparison with a streetported S5 NA vert with dual mufflers.

RB Exhaust

I can not rave about RB systems enough. I have had two now-one for my now deceased 12A FB and my current car '88 GXL N/A. I have the road race setup - true dual front to back with no emissions. It is a little louder than stock, but with a real mellow tone to it. Everything bolts up great-the hardest part is getting old (in my case rusted) exhaust off. Get the RB system. If I ever get another RX series car, RB is getting the call for the exhaust. :

I have the RB header/ presilencer combo and the Bonez highflow cat and a 3ft piece of flex pipe going to a N1 muffler. Its sounds good but really loud at WOT. Carbed S5 NA
