Question Bolt-In cages (Searched)

Just been thinking about investing in a cage. I do not want a weld-in. I took a look at the autopower bolt in cages but I was wondering if anyone makes roll cages specifically for the FC3S here on the forums? If you have any recommendations then please feel free! I prefer that they be SCCA legal (I have no interest in the cusco kits with curved bars). Thanks!

I have a bolt in roll bar, I would reckoned investing in a custom welded roll bar or cage if I was doing it again.
The only FC3S specific roll bars I've seen besides cusco are Kirk Racing and Autopower. I have the Kirk bar and it took some work to get right.

Lemons & Chumps Car Roll Cages, Lemons & Chumps Car Roll Cages 1-5/8" ews for cars under 3000# Race Car Dragster Chassis, Roll bars, Cages, Suspensions, Parts

Those are weld in cages, but whose to say you cant drill some holes and bolt them in? Not sure if SCCA legal, but Lemons rules on cages are pretty strict and over the top.... they are driving rust buckets around after all.

What do you mean SCCA legal?

No bolt in cage is going to be legal for door to door racing.

but for just track days or something autopower is fine.

I have and autopower roll bar in my FC, I like it.

Anyone here install one of those Autopower bolt in cages? What's all involved? My brother had a custom bolt-in cage made for his AE86 and I believe that it's SCCA legal.

dude... did you check the website I posted? I know it isn't the actual SCCA site, but it says they're SCCA legal - for some circuits anyway...

Yes... he did, did you read his original post? He specifically says he knows about autopower cages, which is the link you posted.

Silver Comet: you still haven't answered my question about what you're actually planning on doing with this car.

As of now, it's really my weekend car. I want to do some road racing/drifting fun days in the near future. But I want the option of competing in SCCA club racing if I choose to do that with the car later on in its life.

This is the reason why if you get a cage, please make it a certified welded in cage with a proper design. YouTube

If you have any aspirations of wheel-to-wheel racing. Get a custom, welded in cage. Done by someone experienced.

Being in OH there are quite a few candidates within a 5 hour drive.

Those two activities have different requirements. HPDE's (Not racing, just driving with other cars) and drift days will be fine with one of the bolt-in roll bars.

Wheel to wheel racing requires weld-in cages with door bars. Most likely it'll become a dedicated track car at that point. It is inconvenient to use and can be dangerous to have a full cage in a street car. If you do this, you can simply unbolt the rollbar and sell it to fund the custom cage install.
