boggs down in 3rd gear

alright... my car keeps bogging down in 3rd gear. the engine changes pitch and will not climb any more rpms.... kinda sounds like (2nd gear) bzzzzzzzzzz...shift...(3rd gear) bdddddddddddddddddd.... but if i go from second to third(while its bogging down) to 4th gear real quick for like a second or two and then right back down to 3rd its fine and climbs rpms good.

Is it doing it at any particular RPMs?

Hmm....
Things affected by gear (correct me if I'm wrong people)
- The ECU uses a different fuel map
- The ACV (and possibly BAC) react differently in this gear than 4th gear

Any error codes on the car? When was the last tuneup (ie clogged fuel filter, dirty sparkplugs), are the catalytic converts clogged?

More details on maintenance & car history please.

brand new fuel pump, filter, plugs, brand new secondaries (stock flow) no emissions junk(no cats, air pump, acv, or vacuum rast nest) did the TB mod, i have kept the bac and aws or whatever intact. i have swapped out 2 computers to try nad see if it was the computer so unless both ecu's were junk then im pretty mcuh ruling out the ecu.

by TB mod, you mean no secondary throttle plates? If that's all you've changed, then swap a junk throttle body on and see if the problem goes away. Also check for any air leask around the UIM, TB, MAF, and hosing.

I'm also assuming you messed with the TPS when dis-assembling the car. May want to doublecheck it (including flat spot testing). This is where my expertise ends and RETED's begins.

yeah i set the tps its good, and tell me if this could have aything to do with it: 2 of my omp lines broke right where they go into the lower manifold... o make that 3 lines broke... i used vacuum hose and alot of silicone for a quick fix. would that make it bogg down maybe... but read my first post again becuase it doesnt seem like that would be it the way its acting

Did you change the Spark plug wires? I had a similar problem exept at 5K it would Practrically stop accellerating and after fire. Most noticable in 3rd gear (never went that high in 4th and 5th gears). Now that I replaced them It doesnt happen any more. When I checked the resistance of the old wires vs the new ones they were almost 3 times as high! I got them at the autozone I work at for somewere around 25 bucks or less I did have to order them though.

I think they were either the original NGKs from the factory or NGKs that the original owner (a rich *** dentist) had installed at the dealership during a tuneup. so that would put it somewhere between 150,000 miles old to 90,000 miles old!
