Blower motor and wipers not working

In a couple hours I am going to go look at an '88 RX7. When I talked to the owner on the phone a few days ago,he said the day before he started the car and went to turn on the wipers and they didnt work and neither did the blower motor. Are they possibly connected to the same fuse or is there a short or something somewhere? Anyone have any ideas of the problem? I might be buying this car today on the spot. $1500 cdn for an exc. condition GXL seems good to me.

Neither are on the same circuit.

Probably a bad wiper switch and a bad Logicon (rebuilts of both are available on my website), or a bad blower motor and bad wiper switch.

Canadian dollars are worth what right now??? 2 to 1 USD?

Would it just be a coincidence that they stopped working at the exact same time? Anyways,I am going to see the car in 2 hours,I will be back with an update on it.

yeah, that sounds like a screw came loose from the controller board (pretty common actually). When the screw comes loose it tends to roll around and change the heat/cold settings (until it shorts something big time and smokes the whole thing).

That does sound like a good deal. Those are fairly minor problems. I had my blower motor replaced recently and it's not too expensive. My wipers aren't too great either. They only work on the regular setting. No intermittent or fast wipers in my car.
