Are you running two lines into the "catch can"?
With an emissions removal, you get two spare blowby nipples; one on the center iron facing towards the rear iron, and one nipple on the actual filler neck.
If you block off both nipples then blowby gases build-up, pressurize the oiling system, and push oil into the combustion chamber, creating crazy exhaust smoke. So blowby nipples must be left open, which spills oil out...
BUT...
if you've ever taken a filler neck out and fingerbanged around in the filler hole, you'll know those two nipples feed from the same place; you can block one off with a vacuum hose or what have you and just leave one line unplugged. This way, you only need a single feed line for your catch can.
You could have saved 50% on hosing.

What exactly did you do. The airpump seems pretty pointless to me then. Should I remove it?
